Tailoring | University of Westminster, MFA Menswear with Professional Experience | 2023

Synthesizing historical and contemporary research about Alexander McQueen’s legacy of tailoring and brand identity, this look takes inspiration from McQueen’s current conceptual tenets of human anatomy and fragility and power to explore vulnerability of the body; self-defense, martial arts, and protective garments; and the incorporation of softness amidst harder structures within traditional tailoring.

This garment was featured in “Cut from a Different Cloth: Tailoring, Tradition, and Transition,” an exhibition exploring Alexander McQueen’s early connection to tailoring, as part of the University of Westminster MA Menswear Graduate Showroom at Milan Fashion Week in June 2025.
