Fringe on clothing provides dramatic flair, lively energy, and casual splendor to any style of outfit; it transforms straightforward silhouettes by creating fluid, dynamic shapes and rapturous movement. Inspired by playful, glamorous pieces seen in womenswear that incorporate fringe in visually powerful ways and wanting to solve for what I feel to be a lack of chic, sophisticated fringe-adorned styles in menswear, I designed this men’s wool topcoat with an entire lower half comprising two thick tiers of chainette fringe.
